The Appointments Committee advises members of opportunities for appointments, and helps match candidates to openings and forward to appropriate selection panels. The committee helps at every step of the way by educating about the appointments process, applications and preparation for interviews.

Diversity
The Diversity Committee strives to promote Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) firms by making introductions with our prime engineering firms as well as providing educational opportunities related to contracting with public agencies.

Membership
The Membership Committee is responsible for developing and communicating WTS-OC member benefits to existing and potential members and maintaining the chapter's contact lists. The membership committee also works with current members to renew their membership and encourages potential members to join.

Programs
The Programs Committee develops a program schedule for the upcoming year, including identifying speakers and coordinating with venues for each event.
Additional responsibilities include making on-site arrangements such as audio and visual needs, coordinating materials with speakers, organizing photographing and preparing an event flyer for promotion.

Transportation YOU
The WTS-OC Transportation YOU Committee organizes an annual Girl’s Engineering Day, a six-hour event held in partnership with the Anaheim Union High School District that serves some of the county’s least fortunate middle school and high school students.
The program consists of an introductory presentation with an ice breaker activity related to the structural engineering, and five technical breakout sessions in the areas of geotechnical engineering, transit/rail planning, highway engineering, surveying, and environmental planning.

Communications
Responsible for public relations, the Communications Committee prepares and distributes communication materials with chapter membership and partners.
The committee maintains the chapter blog and the chapter page on the WTS International website. Additional efforts include coordinating weekly e-blasts, social media content, creating event advertisements, graphic design and printed materials at events. As needed, the committee publicizes WTS-OC events with the media or through articles and advertisements.

Mentoring
WTS encourages the professional development of its members and promotes industry recognition of women in the field of transportation. These goals are realized in part by encouraging young professionals to undertake and continue careers in the area of transportation. WTS-OC’s Mentoring Program matches each of these young professionals with an accomplished industry professional for one-on-one mentoring.

Scholarships
The Scholarship Committee coordinates with the community and the industry by offering high school, community college, undergraduate and graduate scholarships to girls and women.
Our hope is to foster the development of women in the transportation field by encouraging bright new professionals to undertake careers in the area of transportation. The committee interacts with applicants throughout the application process, collaborates with the Scoring Reviewer Team, coordinates with candidates, introduces winners to networking and the industry at the WTS-OC Annual Gala and continues to keep in contact with winners after receipt of their scholarship.

Throughout the year, the Corporate Partners Committee coordinates with WTS-OC's Corporate Partners and a variety of other committees to showcase the partners in the monthly luncheons, the Corporate Partner reception, special programs and the Annual Scholarship and Awards Gala.

Hospitality
The Hospitality Committee is responsible for registration of all WTS-OC programs which involves organizing the Eventbrite registration page, tracking reservations, coordinating with the Programs Chair and Corporate Sponsors Chair, registering program speakers and sponsors, preparing the name badges, setting up the registration table and checking in all registered attendees and Fastlane holders at each program.

Nominations
Nominations is responsible for managing the nominations process for chapter board member and committee chairs, as well as nominations for annual awards. The committee prepares the election materials and schedules, identifies the award process and contacts all nominees to inform them of the election results.

Student Outreach
Student Outreach is responsible for planning WTS-Orange County's annual Transportation Academy. Transportation Academy is a two-week immersion into different facets of the transportation industry for undergraduate and graduate college students.
