Guida Surveying, Inc. (Guida) is a multi-discipline land surveying firm that has provided project-based and on-call land surveying and mapping services throughout California since 1995. UltraSystems Environmental Inc. (UltraSystems) is a full-service planning and environmental consulting firm, founded in 1994 and headquartered in Irvine, California. Over 27 years, UltraSystems has provided over 7,000 environmental reports, technical studies and other consulting services to public and private sector clients throughout California.
UltraSystems employs 42 talented and experienced urban and environmental planners, scientists, archaeologists, biologists, geologists, hydrologists, engineers, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) specialists and support staff. In addition, our firm has under contract up to 100 individuals to supplement existing workloads. Lastly, our firm has master service agreements (MSAs) with 50 firms.
Preparing and peer-reviewing California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents has been a core service of UltraSystems since our founding. We can conduct almost all the supporting technical studies with inhouse staff, including highly specialized efforts such as jurisdictional delineations, focused special-status species surveys, air pollutant dispersion modeling and health risk assessments, and hazardous materials investigations. Wherever possible, we help integrate environmental impact considerations into project planning, design and review. We coordinate with local, state, federal and other governmental agencies; manage public participation programs; issue necessary legal notices; and distribute draft and final documentation. Creating legal defensibility is our goal on all our projects. None of our CEQA documents has been successfully challenged in a court of law.
In addition to our CEQA/NEPA work, UltraSystems helps our clients obtain permits from natural resources agencies and air pollution control districts; conducts noise studies; carries out large-scale cultural resources investigations for the U.S. Navy; and provides onsite environmental monitoring services at construction projects and landfills.
Our extensive transportation experience includes bridges, complete street design projects, road widening, grade separations, signalization, bus stations, transit maintenance facilities, airport development, and urban light rail projects. We provided years of on-call consulting services to the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) and the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
